- Never sunbathe or use a sunbed when you have a sunburn
- Know your skin type - do the mcsun sunpass
- Adhere to the tanning time recommended for your skin type
- Protect sensitive body parts – tan those areas slowly (underarms, genitalia, nose, and ears)
- Protect your lips as they cannot produce melanin as a natural protection against sunburn
- Protect your eyes – always use the protective eyewear indoors and sunglasses outdoors
- No make-up or perfume – they may cause skin sensitivity and irritability when tanning
- Take care of your skin after tanning by applying moisturisers or lotion
- Some drugs can be photosensitizing, meaning they may make skin more vulnerable to ultraviolet light, causing sunburn, rashes and other allergic reactions – consult your pharmacist or doctor before tanning
Remember: Tan responsibly. Tan in moderation. Prevent overexposure at all costs.
